Kafu 1078 Review by Bento experimenter
I am new to Bento because I'm trying to find a way to rescue my teenager from the dreadfully carb-packed, bland government-mandated "healthy" school lunches. This container is a good starting point for learning how to pack Bento.
When I read the previous reviews concerning the monstrous size of this Bento, I thought perhaps they were written by customers of Asian descent who did not yet have the big American appetite...which gets even bigger out here on the farm because we work hard each day. However, the reviewers did not exaggerate. I just ate my first lunch from it and I could not finish it.
If you will look at the company's product photo for reference: Packing only one tier of the box, I took out two of the colored cups and left that space open for larger foods. I packed last night's chicken in the maroon cup, pickled radishes in the green cup, and broccoli with red potatoes in the open area. At the end of lunch, I was only able to finish the contents of both cups and only half of the large space. (One of the colored cups = 3/4 C. of food)
If packing for my athletic teenager and for my big-appetite husband to take to the fields this summer, then I will pack one tier per person. If packing for myself, then I will loosely pack the top tier and use the bottom tier for napkin, condiments, chopsticks/silverware, etc.
Two points stop me from giving this 5 stars: I had to make my own elastic band to keep the tiers together/lid on, and the Bento will leak if tipped.

This is a nice bento box, good quality, very versatile. We have been using bentos in our house to pack kid's school lunches. I was surprised to find out that this two tier bento does not come with typical for bentos elastic holder that would keep this box from falling apart (just imagine the mess if you reserve bottom tier for an entrée). I did come up with a solution-I managed to purchase some elastic from craft store and sewed it together, unfortunately it isn't something that's convenient or worth my two hour trip to the nearest shopping center (we live in rural area). So, suit yourself-nice quality, very roomy bento but comes with extra work and effort to be usable!

This is a two tier bento box with four removable square containers on one level. I use this bento box two ways: as a picnic bento (good for two people) using both tiers or as a single lunch bento box using only one tier. The colored compartments are fairly generous--I think they are about 180ml each. The downside to this box is that the lid and tiers don't snap together tightly. I made a band from elastic to keep them together when transporting or else I tie a large cloth napkin around the box to keep it secure.
