Got this device last week.
Within a minute I was charging an iPhone 4 and an iPhone 4S.
I did not use any of the adaptors. I can't find a reason one would need to use those adaptors. Possibly they create a tighter fit in the charger.
Both my iPhone are in cases. They do not interfere with the charger.
My girlfriends iPhone case even has a nub to attach a wrist strap on the bottom of the case, and it charges perfectly.
Phones charge as fast as standard Apple wall unit USB charger.
It looks nice. Is small and compact.
Vendor shipped very rapidly.

This charger is working perfectly for my wife and I. We both have the iPhone 4S. I have a generic "Amazon" brand clear plastic/rubber case. My wife has the newest model of the Speck Candyshell that is for the 4S. BOTH of our phones fit fine. In fact, without using any of the little adapters, there is quite a bit of room to spare. I wish I could test it with a larger case (e.g. an Otterbox, or something), but I can't. All I can tell you is that the Candyshell fit in there easily.
Let me stress something else though. We are NOT using the adapters. We have not even tried them and I don't even know where they are anymore. ALSO, because the stand is set at a slight backward angle, the phone is applying some pressure to the jack (gravity). We have not had any problems with wear and tear yet. The key here is not applying any extra pressure! While you don't have to baby it, don't apply any more pressure than necessary when inserting the phone.
All in all, we are VERY happy with this charger. Sits in my office downstairs and provides day time charging (at night, when necessary, we charge in the bedroom). It looks nice AND the blue LED lights can be turned off or on depending on your preference. Turning them off does not turn off the unit.

It took some trial and error to figure out which of the many included inserts would work best to charge an iPhone 4 with the Apple bumper case. I tried several different inserts before deciding that the iPod Classic insert works the best. (There is an iPhone 4 insert, but it only works without the bumper case.) During the trial-and-error process, I had to use a sharp knife to pry each insert out of the charger. But once I had selected the right insert, I found that it works well. The other device I charge with it is an iPhone 3GS without a case; that one was easy using the included iPhone 3GS insert. I've had the charger for 6 months and I've been happy with it.
